Honest answers first

Is this a qualified electronic signature?

No. C-NDA records simple electronic signatures with reinforced evidence: verified identity (Google account, personal link or passkey), timestamp, IP address and user agent, sealed in a package whose hash is anchored on a public blockchain. Qualified eIDAS timestamps are on our roadmap for the Professional tier.

What exactly can a third party verify?

Existence and integrity: never contents. The public verification page shows the certificate code, the evidence hash, the anchoring transaction and the number of bound parties. Anyone holding the evidence package can recompute the hash locally and compare it with the on-chain record, without trusting us. Every certificate is anchored immediately with a dedicated transaction.

Where do my documents and data end up?

Data is stored encrypted in the EU (database in the Frankfurt region). Recordings and documents stay private to the parties; what goes on-chain is only a cryptographic hash, which reveals nothing. On Pro, the transcript is sent to an AI provider to draft the summary: the providers, and where they are, are listed in the Privacy Policy. You can request destruction of stored audio while keeping the certificate: the hash remains as evidence that the recording existed as certified.

How long are certificates and recordings retained?

Certificates are never deleted, on any plan. Meeting recordings are kept for 12 months on Free, with an email 30 days before deletion, and on Pro for as long as the subscription is active and for 30 days after it ends, with two notices before deletion. Deleting a recording does not touch the certificate or its anchor on Polygon.

Do participants need to install anything?

No. Signers open a personal link in their browser. For protected meetings, the C-NDA bot joins the call as a visible witness: your participants never install anything; for the host there are an optional extension and desktop app.

What happens if I stop paying?

Certificates, evidence packages and anchors stay accessible and verification keeps working. Paid limits stop applying at the end of the paid period; 30 days later the data stored for the account (recordings, uncertified media, uploads, exports, logo) is deleted, after two notices by email; renewing at any point cancels the deletion.

Do I have to trust C-NDA to rely on a certificate?

No, and that is the point of the price you pay. The evidence package is hashed with SHA-256 and anchored on a public blockchain: anyone holding the package can recompute the hash with a plain SHA-256 command and find it on-chain through any public block explorer, without asking us anything. If we disappeared tomorrow, the anchor would still be there.
